Cliff Palace At Mesa Verde

Cliff Palace is the iconic cliff dwelling at Mesa Verde National Park.  Built by the ancient anasazi people,  the square tower house appears today much as it was in the late 13th century.   Rooms were added, abandoned, modified throughout its occupation, creating the dense clustering of rooms with its size  that intrigues me.  The layering and massing of forms create an architecture similar to the modern movement of the twentieth century.
