The trails near Santa Fe gently rises and loops through the beautiful aspen and mixed conifer groves. Evening on the trail at the end of a day hike up in the Sangre De Cristo mountains, quiet, cool and peaceful. Atalaya Mountain serves as the backdrop for the view looking east in Santa Fe.  This ever present mountain , part of the Sangre De Cristos, has been used  for firewood and pinons for as long as the area has been occupied.
